We have sheep, alpaca, pigs and angora goats. The goats enjoy being fed and introducing themselves. The pigs enjoy a scratch, especially at feed time. Our turkeys, pekin bantams and chooks often take a walk around the garden and come and say hello. At feed time you can help feed them and get to know them even better. If you are lucky our Polish Chicken may even lay a green egg, just like in Dr Seuss’s book.
While you are at the farm you are most welcome to have a 1.5 hour complimentary tour with John where you gain all behind-the scenes farm life on how to pick, store and process chestnuts.
From late March until early June you can put on some sturdy boots and gloves and go picking sweet chestnuts. The trees will be turning yellow ready for winter and the orchard is a part of paradise.
At the farm shop there is a vast range of products – from a chestnut ice cream and our signature chestnut ale to chestnut-fed pork ribs. Our farm shop will be open during the time of your visit so you can purchase products from the farm.

There is a list of what we have spotted in the farm stay. You are most welcome to add to that list. We have spotted everything from eagles to blue wrens.
Want to cook outside in seclusion? We have a barbeque on the verandah where you can cook, why not try our chestnut fed pork and other specialties from our farm shop. You can also sit on the deck with a glass of wine and count the kangaroos hopping along in the adjoining field.
On a clear night you can be in another world. The Milky Way will be above you and you can look at the stars for as long as you like in this magical world.
Apart from almost 1000 thousand chestnut trees in the orchard, you might find a huge variety of native and European varieties of plants on the farm. Some of them have survived since the Age of Dinosaurs
