Description
A pig’s head offers a variety of culinary possibilities, from making traditional headcheese (brawn) to roasting, braising, or slow-cooking for rich and flavorful dishes. The cheeks and jowls provide tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat, perfect for slow roasting or braising with vegetables. The whole head can also be used to make hearty broths, stocks, or soups, adding depth to your recipes. Pig’s head is often used in many cultures for dishes like crispy pork face, tacos, or terrines, giving you a versatile ingredient for creative meals.
At Chestnut Brae Farm, our pigs are chestnut-fed and pasture-raised, contributing to their rich, unique flavor. Using regenerative farming methods, we rotate the pigs across different pastures, which enhances soil health, improves future crops, and supports sustainable farming. This positive environment ensures our pigs live stress-free lives, which results in better quality, healthier meat.
Whole and half pig heads are available on special request.
As we produce pork only when chestnuts are in season, availability runs from chestnut harvest through November or December. Orders are placed via email, with delivery to Perth and the southwest, or farm pick-up options available. Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on product availability.
Please note, we cannot post meat.
