Welcome to Chestnut Brae — where chestnuts, community, and connection come together in a truly special way. If you’ve ever wandered through our orchard or picked up one of our products and thought, “I wonder what this place is really about?” — this is for you.
Our Story
Chestnut Brae started with a vision to create something that honoured the land, celebrated the seasons, and nurtured people along the way. Tucked into the rolling hills of Nannup in Western Australia, our farm is home to around 1,000 organically grown, mature chestnut trees.
We (John and Linda) came to the farm with backgrounds in horticulture, marketing and agritourism — and a deep desire to live more closely with nature. Over the years, we’ve turned a humble chestnut orchard into a place that not only produces food but offers accommodation and experiences that connect people back to where food comes from — the soil, the seasons, and the stories.
Why Do We Do It?
Because we believe in something deeper than just farming.
We believe in the power of regenerative farming — nurturing the land so it can give back for generations. We believe that good food starts with good soil, and that animals should live happily and naturally. We believe in sharing — not just our harvests, but the joy, the learning, the laughter, and the peace that comes with life on the farm.
Agritourism allows us to open our gates and invite others in — to taste, touch, hear and feel the difference that comes from a place where everything is done with care and passion.
What’s Our Message?
Reconnect. Regenerate. Reimagine.
We want to inspire a slower, more thoughtful way of living — one that celebrates local food, sustainable practices, and authentic connection with the natural world.
Whether you’re picking chestnuts beneath our old trees, tasting chestnut-fed pork, joining a workshop, or wandering our orchard walk, we want to remind you of something simple but powerful: nature knows best — and we’re better for it when we tune in.
What Do We Want People to Feel?
Peaceful. Curious. Reconnected. Inspired.
When you visit Chestnut Brae, we want you to slow down. To breathe deeper. To laugh a little more. To be present. We want you to feel a sense of childlike wonder — whether you’re spotting fairylights under the trees, feeding the goats, or simply soaking in the silence and birdsong.
Mostly, we want you to leave feeling lighter than when you arrived — with a full heart and perhaps a full basket too.
Whether you’re visiting for a day, shopping online, or joining us for one of our seasonal events — thank you for being part of the Chestnut Brae story.
