For many years, our chestnut-fed pork has been one of the most loved products from Chestnut Brae. From our farmhouse bacon and sausages to our slow-cooked pork cuts, every piece tells the story of our regenerative farming journey — where heritage pigs roam our pastures, enjoy our fallen chestnuts, and play an important role in the health of our soil and orchard.
We wanted to share an honest update with our Chestnut Brae community: at the moment, we do not have any pork available, and there is no new pork coming through in the short term.
Finding the right pigs to continue our farming philosophy has taken longer than expected. We are carefully searching for new heritage pigs that align with our values — animals that can thrive outdoors, contribute positively to our regenerative farming system, and enjoy the natural diet that makes our pork so special.
We do not want to rush this process. For us, farming is about patience, care and making decisions that respect the animals, the land and the food we produce. Bringing new animals onto the farm is a big commitment, and we want to ensure we find the right fit for our unique orchard environment.
Our chestnut-fed pork has always been more than just a product. It represents a connection between our trees, our animals and our farming practices. The pigs help us cycle nutrients through the farm, naturally improve the soil, and make use of the smaller chestnuts that would otherwise go to waste.
While we wait for the next chapter of our pork journey, we encourage you to continue enjoying the many other seasonal treasures from Chestnut Brae — including our organic chestnuts, chestnut flour, pantry products, honey, natural skincare range and farm experiences.
